Support Group for the Unemployed
Losing work can be a difficult experience. We are running a group for both men and women who have lost their job and are unemployed and struggling with the impact of this on their lives. The group is a chance to get together with others similarly affected in order to support one another with the problems being unemployed can bring. This group will be an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to lose your job and help you to understand more about the effects losing work can have. Topics covered within the group structure may include:
- Feeling at a loss
- Lack of motivation
- Losing routine and a social network
- Loneliness
- Financial difficulties
- Dealing with difficult emotions
- Effects on relationships
- Adapting to change
- Looking to the future.
